Creating a comfortable microclimate in the room and protecting everyone present in it from the heat, air conditioner has long been perceived as an integral part of everyday life. Not all users realize the importance of preparing equipment for the summer season. Its necessity is primarily due to the fact that in an inactive state in the cold season, a thin layer of dust and harmful microparticles forms on the external and internal elements. When the air conditioner is put into operation, its functionality will be reduced due to lack of maintenance, which may cause premature equipment failure.
It is on the internal parts that harmful dust and bacteria accumulate. Due to poor care of the filters, the air flow circulates along the paths where microbes or allergens have accumulated, which will spread in the air space of the room. As a result, this can cause an exacerbation of allergies and ENT pathologies.
Cleaning work on the indoor unit
First, you need to thoroughly clean the air conditioner blinds, because the pathogenic bacteria accumulated on them will quickly spread through the house. The case should also be thoroughly wiped with a damp cloth.
Most of the particles harmful to human health accumulate on the filters of the split system during downtime and active operation. The number of filters installed depends on the model and manufacturer choice. You can purchase new components, but this is not necessary. The filters can be rinsed under running water and allowed to dry in a ventilated area before installation. Manufacturers recommend replacing filters either before the start of the summer season or after its completion.
The block mounted on the facade of the house is more polluted than that placed indoors. Debris and dirt fly inside, which can cause equipment malfunction. This is especially dangerous if the block is fixed not high from the ground. The most important rule that should not be ignored is to turn off the equipment at least thirty minutes before cleaning is scheduled.
Before cleaning, it is recommended to partially disassemble the external unit. You need to prepare for this: the equipment is quite heavy and in the absence of skills it can be damaged. First, the outer panels are removed. Then the fan blades should be cleaned. The main air flow passes through this component, so the main dirt accumulates on it.
If safety measures are followed and timely maintenance is carried out, the air conditioner will last for many years.
